It’s not just a cake!

It’s important to know that when you receive a specialist, hand-baked, professionally decorated cake from me that it’s not just a cake, even a small cake requires the same techniques and time.. From the very beginning, the cake is made using good quality ingredients to give it a fabulous structure and taste. Iced cakes are then encased in a delicious layer of Belgian chocolate ganache which seals the cake and gives a lovely smooth base for the icing to sit on. The icing I use is a high quality brand that tastes far superior to cheaper ones available and allows a thin layer to be rolled on top which, together with the chocolate ganache, tastes exquisite!

The cakes themselves are made up of four layers, each layer being 1 inch in height. Between these layers you will find creamy whipped ganache, velvety smooth swiss meringue buttercream and various curds or conserves. The total height of the cake will be 5 inches. Sometimes cakes vary in height depending on the final design to give the finished cake an interesting and elegant look.
I have invested a lot of time and money learning such the skills required to create these cakes and this is reflected in my pricing so please avoid any embarrassment to either of us by checking my pricing first.

PRICES & PORTIONS

The important stuff…

To secure your date for a wedding a £100 booking fee (non-returnable) is required. Once a design has been agreed, 50% of the final amount is taken as a deposit and the booking fee is included in this. The remainder to be settled 6 weeks prior to the wedding.

Consultations are booked once the booking fee is paid and then I will research the design and work on ideas for you. I am happy to have a quick conversation on the phone if you want to go through anything before committing.

Delivery is £1 a mile for the first 25miles and thereafter I will also add travel time. Set-up is worked into the final price for the cake as some designs take longer than others to assemble on the day.

Cake Stands can be hired for £30 with a deposit of £100.

Additional tasting boxes can be purchased for £20 or £30 to be posted.
